You relish the opportunity to work on next generation platform products to ensure data processing performance and scalability across different use cases that include batch, request/response and real-time systems.<br/><br/><b>Your Responsibilities</b><br/>The successful candidate will be based in Redwood City, CA and will be responsible for:<br/>-Ensuring optimal performance and scalability of all aspects of the product<br/>-Researching and designing industry standard benchmarks to measure component level and product level performance<br/>-Designing and implementing a performance benchmark strategy<br/>-Evaluating current systems and proposing changes to the design and or implementation<br/>-Driving performance prototype and benchmarking activities and assisting in performance critical customer/field situations<br/>-Driving performance tuning training sessions for global services and support teams<br/>-Consistently demonstrating an ability and willingness to work as a hands-on performance engineer<br/>-Participating in architecture discussions and planning with Development<br/>-Owning the performance aspects of the products and communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders including senior product and business management<br/>-Delivering performance tuning whitepapers, sizing recommendations and capacity planning documents<br/>-Mentoring junior engineers on technical, architectural, design and related issues<br/>-Collaborating with geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in an Agile environment<br/><br/><b>Your Qualifications</b><br/>-BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline; advanced degree a plus<br/>-8 or more years of relevant professional experience, a portion of which was within an enterprise software company with at least one or more of the following:<br/>-Experience analyzing and improving distributed system performance that includes design and execution of performance benchmarks for enterprise products/applications<br/>-Strong programming skills in Java and/or C++<br/>-Experience analyzing and improving Java application performance is a major plus<br/>-Strong database internals and performance and tuning experience with RDBMS such as Oracle/ DB2/ MS SQL<br/>-Expert ability to identify potential limitations in software architectures<br/>-Experience in conducting and publishing industry standard benchmarks on Data Integration and Data Federation products; Hadoop performance benchmarking experience is highly desirable<br/>-Measurement and data analysis (statistical) experience<br/>-Experience developing sizing and capacity planning documents<br/>-Knowledge of query optimizations for distributed computing technologies such as Hadoop is a plus<br/>-Proven ability to work well with others in a fast paced, iterative product definition and agile development environment<br/>-Ability to quickly adapt to the rapidly changing marketplace and willingness to learn new technologies as they evolve<br/>-Highly motivated, results-driven self-starter who is also a collaborative team player<br/>-Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with business and technical audiences<br/>-Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills<br/><br/>Informatica offers a competitive compensation package that includes base salary, medical, retirement and employee stock purchase (ESP) programs, flexible time off and more.
